I am already here on this blog so I might as well write what it is that has me lingering on my mind. It has to do with former football player Dwight Clark.I don’t if this is true but I heard some stories that he is suffering from this disorder of ALS or something. I don’t know whether it has something to do with nerve damage or concussion, but I do know that he isn’t able to do very much with is body from a physical standpoint. It is just unfortunate that he caught this disorder and became another player who fell into the bate of players getting a lifetime injury.
So I would have to say that the NFL isn’t doing enough to compensate former players regarding their lifetime injuries since a couple of former players either developed other diseases or ended up killing themselves due to head injuries and traumas. I am sure that there are other former NFL players like Dwight Clark who have had these issues but failed to come forward. The NFL should do a lot more than do just a bunch of research and give money away because an NFL career doesn’t last long due these issues and a lack of education on the players part.
Well, it was another night that has passed and now I will be just waiting for tomorrow to come so that another day gets passed. Now I have been trying to get the urge to write in here almost everyday but I just haven’t been able to do that due to the lack of time I get but also the lack of topics I haven’t been able to strum up at the top of my head. I really do want to write everyday but like every writer that I know about I am also running into the chilly winter. But I am hoping to strum up with something because right now as of late, I am getting a bit tired but I will get this off before heading off to bed.
Anyway,I will try and get this off before I doze off in the chair or maybe at the computer. I was just thinking about my former coworkers at the gas bar and how they are doing this time around. I say this because I ended up seeing the mother come in to buy some food and tobacco products. I was going to see her but I never really get up fast in the mornings since my shifts are always at night. But stay tuned as I will be back to give out the business and sports report.
Just a bit of stuff to relay onto you.I have been watching a bit of sports as of late and a lot has happen off the radar. What I mean is that a lot has been going on in the NFL off the field that I haven’t been able to watch due to a lack of time. But what has been happening is that I saw a lot of running back make some decent trades off the field. And most of them I have been seeing are signing up for the Seattle Seahawks. I am not able to name some names since I don’t know them but I have seen them on television and I have to say that some trades have been good while others not so good.Of course not only the running backs but the defensive backs and some quarterbacks have been making some attempts in getting traded to some teams.
While there are some players that are staying put respectively and I have to applaud them for it because lately at times I have been hearing a whole lot of rumors that they were going to get traded to different teams but after learning that they were going to get better deals by the teams I think they have decided to change their minds and stay altogether. This football business is very vicious and cunning in a way while at the same time it is an legit business. I mean pro sports to say the least. It is not only a big business but I would have to say that it’s a pretty small business as well because there are situations where most team owners are not able to pay their top players a whole lot of money due to the salary cap which often happens to them when they have to pay their other players on their roster.
But regardless to what I wrote in here I still have a whole lot to learn about the business of the NFL and not just that but the whole business of sports.I didn’t know that the NFL in a way is a company which owns teams but that is what I am learning right about now. Most teams are franchises which often operate like businesses in which players can quit the team at anytime and switch to another team.Just like employees quit a company and apply to work in another company. It’s not just an athletic league in which players just play in for fun. They have to realize that the NFL is a business and it should be treated as such.
It’s been a long while since I have written in here. But I just had to take some time off to reorganize my thoughts. It can really be draining having to write everyday and I see why most writers are having to take take off to refresh their batteries and then start the writing process again.I have done that with this blog since I was on my other blog trying to do something which unfortunately hasn’t work. But I am going to keep trying.Anyway, I did manage to get the glimpse as to what is going on in the petroleum industry. Now I have checked that the oil price has gone up a bit and I think that it is on the rebound. But still, I don’t think that it will recover fully in time for companies to be hiring again.
It just seems that we are going to continue being somewhat in the red with regards to oil and gas.The gas prices have gone down amazingly.Which was one of the reasons why we were so busy at the beginning of my shift. Then as usual died down at the end of the night.
Just a small note here before I take off. This is about quarterback Vince Young. Now from what I have heard is that he got a contract to play football again. This time from the CFL. He got signed to play for the Saskatchewan Roughriders. So much for him retiring from football. Now I didn’t think that he would be able to play football again since playing for the Tennessee Titans and some other teams. I guess he was one of those players to couldn’t make a break in the NFL and instead has decided to play in the CFL. I have nothing against the CFL but I think that the NFL brings more credit ability than the CFL because the NFL is known worldwide while the CFL is only known in Canada and maybe the United States.
Well, back again here and it has been a long while since I have written in here even though it has been only a few days let alone a week.I don’t have much time to talk so I will just get right into the details.I managed to check the gas price at one station last night on my way to school and we are sitting at about $.93/liter but I could be wrong since I was in the Northwest of the city. Now that I will be working in the Southwest of Calgary I will check the prices when I get to work.I will also be checking my schedule as well for next week. And by the looks of things I will probably working on Saturdays with this guy who at the first of last year gave me a hard time.
But for my sake and the company’s I am not going to name names. Anyways, I managed to read some gas stuff on some gasoline website and got some news about driving and taxes since it seems that everyone is filing their income taxes this month or the four months this year since the tax season started way back in January. It ends in April of this year with the American one being done early in April while the Canadian one ending at the end of April. It seems that if drivers are able to give their cars away to charity then they might be able to get to write off their taxes on their cars.
That’s all I have to say for now.
Back once again here and I am just a bit fatigued right now from work even though no one came at the last minute.Sundays are always slow as usual.I am just thinking about whether or not I am going to be able to see the car I am going to buy tomorrow and by the looks of things I guess it’s safe to say that I will be staying home since it snowed all night. It was decent outside when I was coming to work but it got really cold from that point on while I was working.I am not sure about this weather in Calgary at times since it stays sunny and warm one day then suddenly it gets cold and snows for reasons unknown.
Anyway, it was another dull and slow day with not a whole lot happening tonight.I am always having to think that there has to be more to life than just working and it brings me to some stuff that I want to talk about. It has to do with work and the issue surrounding that word.I am wondering how many hours per average that both Canadians and Americans work per week or even a year because it seems to me that we work so hard and long to a point that we are still not able to make ends meet. What I mean is that we work so much and hard and still not able to keep up with the process of inflation.I thought that the purpose of work is to not only make money but to offset inflation meaning prices of items increase while working to cut the deficit.
But what I am seeing though is this process of seeing the price of goods and services go up while seeing household incomes go down despite the hard work we do.
